Yosemite Adventure: The Taylor Family’s Digital Nomad Sabbatical Year

In the summer of 2020, the Taylor family decided to take a sabbatical year and embark on a journey to Yosemite National Park. The family of four – parents, Kevin and Joanne, and their two kids, 12-year-old Jack and 10-year-old Emma – had been living in London for several years, and after seeing their dreams of traveling to Europe put on hold due to the pandemic, they decided to explore their own backyard.

The Taylors had always been a family that valued adventure and exploration, so when they heard of the possibility of living in Yosemite for a year, they immediately jumped at the chance. Yosemite had always been a place of wonder and beauty to the family, and they felt that a year in the park would be the perfect way to make the most of the circumstances.

Digital Nomadism Allowing for a Sabbatical Year

The Taylors were also eager to take the plunge into the world of digital nomadism, and so they decided to continue working remotely while living in the park. Kevin and Joanne were software engineers, and Jack and Emma attended school online. This gave the family the freedom to explore the park, take hikes on the trails, and get to know the local wildlife.

They were overwhelmed by the park and decide to stay an extra year. They soon found themselves captivated by the wonders of Yosemite and decided to spend an extra year in the park. As the months passed, the family was able to explore the beauty of Yosemite, marveling at the breathtaking views, and the majestic sequoias that stood tall above the valley.

Their sabbatical year in Yosemite was one they would never forget, and they left the park with a newfound appreciation for the outdoors and the beauty of nature. The family also found a great appreciation for the digital nomad lifestyle, and they will continue to explore the world from the comfort of their laptop for many years to come.

Their past adventures in Europe as digital nomads

The Taylor family had always been adventurous and open to new experiences. When they heard about the digital nomad lifestyle, they jumped at the chance to explore the world while still working remotely. The Taylors decided to start their digital nomad journey in Portugal and found that the country offered a great combination of culture, food, and stunning beaches.

They were able to get a digital nomad visa that allowed them to stay in the country for six months, giving them plenty of time to explore the country. After their time in Portugal ended, the Taylors decided to move on to Spain, where they were able to get a digital nomad visa to stay in the country for another six months. They explored the vibrant cities of Barcelona and Madrid, and enjoyed the beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean.

Finally, after a year of living and working in Spain, the Taylors decided it was time to move on to their next destination – Estonia. They were amazed by the beauty of the Baltic Sea and the culture of the country, and they were able to get a digital nomad visa to stay for another six months.

The Taylors’ two years of digital nomadism was an incredible journey.
